Nakita Chambers

Nakita Chambers serves as the Supervisory Program Manager. In her role she leads a team of five (5) program analysts and oversees a budget of $22M yearly in grants and cooperative agreements. As the senior program manager for grants, Mrs. Chambers develops the program solicitations, leads the review and evaluation of grant applications, and oversees the financial management of federal funding awarded.

Mrs. Chambers has 27 years of federal government service and has worked in the grants community for the past 22 years. She previously worked for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (Branch Chief), the National Science Foundation (Lead Grants Management Specialist), Department of Agriculture (Grants Management Specialist), and the National Cancer Institute (Grants Management Specialist). In 2015, Mrs. Chambers was the recipient of the National Director’s Award, recognizing her outstanding contributions in transforming the Agency’s business center program. In 2018, Mrs. Chambers was the recipient of the Business Development Award, recognizing her outstanding contribution to the Agency’s overall performance.  

A native of Washington, D.C., Mrs. Chambers holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management from the University of the District of Columbia, a Master’s Degree of Science Administration from Central Michigan University, and Grants Certification from the Department of Health and Human Services with an unlimited grants warrant.
