Dallas Regional Director John Iglehart is Recipient of the 2008 Gold Medal Award for Leadership


MBDA Congratulates Dallas Regional Director, John Iglehart as Recipient of 2008 Gold Medal Award for Leadership 
 

WASHINGTON (October 27, 2008)— Secretary of Commerce, Carlos M. Gutierrez recently announced that John F. Iglehart, Regional Director, Dallas National Enterprise Center, Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) will receive the 2008 Gold Medal Award for Leadership.

This award, the highest form of honorary recognition the Department of Commerce bestows, is granted to Mr. Iglehart for his exemplary work with the Gulf Coast recovery and rebuilding efforts while he managed MBDA’s Dallas and Atlanta National Enterprise Centers.

“Mr. Iglehart is an exemplary leader and a committed public servant with 36 years at MBDA,” said MBDA National Director Ronald N. Langston.  “Thanks to Mr. Iglehart’s untiring work, MBDA was able to help promote and manage the Gulf Coast recovery and rebuilding efforts ultimately helping minority-business owners in the affected region,” Langston adds.

Mr. Iglehart was appointed the Dallas Regional Director in October 1994 and is the longest-serving Regional Director in the history of the agency. Before his current position, Mr. Iglehart served as the Chief of the Advocacy and Outreach Division at MBDA in Washington, D.C. He has also served as Regional Director of the New York Region and Acting Regional Director of the Chicago Region, Acting Regional Director of the Atlanta Region, and the San Francisco Region. His expertise at managing, coordinating, and administering public policy is vast and widely recognized.

Prior to working for the U.S. Department of Commerce, Mr. Iglehart served as Manpower Development Specialist at the U.S. Department of Labor.

Mr. Iglehart has received numerous awards attesting to his unmatched dedication, talent and commitment to fostering minority business development.

Mr. Iglehart is a native of Waco, Texas and currently resides in McGregor, Texas and obtained a BA degree from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff and a MA degree from Prairie View A&M.
