U.S. Secretary of Commerce Announces Henry Childs, II as National Director of the Minority Business Development Agency

The U.S. Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross announced that Henry Childs, II will be the new National Director of the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA). Mr. Childs will be the 17th National Director of the agency.

Twelve Business Leaders Honored during National Minority Development Week

The U.S. Department of Commerce’s Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) proudly announces the professional achievements of 12 leaders of minority business enterprises (MBEs). The recipients will be honored at the National Minority Business Awards Ceremony on October 16, 2018 in Austin, TX during the National Minority Enterprise Development Week.

U.S. Secretary of Commerce Announces Minority Business Development Agency Grant Awards

The U.S. Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross announced that the Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) of the Department of Commerce awarded over $13 million to 35 projects in communities across the country. The grants, which are part of MBDA’s new Broad Agency Announcement initiative, reflect critical Department of Commerce priorities including space commerce, aquaculture, disaster relief, and entrepreneurship efforts.The U.S. Department of Commerce’s Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) today announced the 2017 National Minority Enterprise Development (MED) Week Award winners. This year the Agency honored 15 minority business enterprises (MBEs), businesses leaders and advocates for their leadership, commitment and excellence in advancing the interests and the economic achievements of the minority business community.

Wealth Building Process of Tech Transfer Revealed and Supported Within Minority Communities

The U.S. Department of Commerce's Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) announced the launch of a 5-city tour to increase awareness among minority business enterprises of opportunities to improve businesses and create jobs using technology invented in Federal government laboratories. The MBDA InVision Tour begins in Atlanta, December 6 - 7, 2018, and includes stops in Houston, San Francisco, New York City, and Miami. Department of Commerce, Minority Business Development Agency today released a new report, Contracting Barriers, and Factors Affecting Minority Business Enterprises: A Review of Existing Disparity Studies.The report, which spotlights disparities in state and local government contracting between minority-owned and nonminority-owned business enterprises, provides an in-depth review and analysis of disparity studies, summaries, and reports.
