The U.S. Department of Commerce Connecticut District office invites you to participate in a series of thirteen one hour to 90 minute nationally promoted webinars beginning in early April through late May 2015.

The International Trade Compliance Webinar Training Program will provide U.S. companies either who supply the nation’s largest exporters, including Prime and Tier-one contractors in supply chain, or want to take advantage of the dynamic global market with focused training about compliance with international trade laws.  The program will also focus on the different angles of compliance awareness and current challenges facing the upstream supply chain.

The presenters will include legal experts and U.S. government speakers.  The webinars topics consist of:

  • Complying with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) – 04/07/2015

  • Complying with the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) – 04/13/2015

  • Complying with U.S. Economic Sanctions and Trade Embargoes – 04/15/2015

  • Distribution Agreements/Technical Assistance Agreements/Manufacturing License Agreements – 04/22/2015

  • FCPA: What Every Company Doing Business Abroad Needs to Know – 04/23/2015

  • Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) Items: Import Compliance Documentation – 04/27/2015

  • Deemed Exports – 05/05/2015

  • Government Contracting – 05/06/2015

  • Site Visits, Enforcement Actions and Voluntary Disclosures – 05/12/2015

  • Considerations for Exporting to China – 05/12/2015

  • Compliance at Trade shows – 05/19/2015

  • Developing a Corporate Export Management and Compliance Program (EMCP) – 05/20/2015

The webinars will educate the smaller supply chain companies and employees of larger companies who may be compliance novices about the key areas of global trade compliance.  The series will also afford companies the opportunity to conduct risk assessments of their compliance programs, as well as evaluate and develop written policies, procedures and processes intended to address how the company may want to protect itself and its customers from exposure to global trade compliance risks.

Whether new to exporting to or an old pro, through this webinar series you can learn about new opportunities to help grow your business, refresh your understanding of U.S. trade laws, and reinforce your company’s compliance practices.

The webinars cost $20 per webinar or $200 for all 13 webinars.
